Joseph Magazzolo
Director of Food and Nutrition Services
Chef Joseph Magazzolo has 20 years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in East Brunswick, NJ to immigrant Sicilian parents, Joe worked in a variety of casual and fine dining restaurants in the New Jersey area.
Joseph decided to pursue his passion for food and attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh, Pa. where he did his extern at the prestigious Carlton Restaurant in Downtown Pittsburg. Upon graduation in 1998, he settled in Phoenixville, Pa and he apprenticed at the 4-star restaurant, Savona in Gulph Mills, Pa as Chef de Tournant where he participated in the Chien de Rotisseurs. In 1999 Joe married his college sweetheart Alicia, and settled in Collegeville Pa. The same year Joseph left Savona and became the Executive Banquet Chef at Blue Bell Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa. Under celebrate Executive Chef Jim Coleman, Joseph catered events for celebrities and exclusive high-ranking officials in the Philadelphia Area, as well as for The James Beard Foundation.
In 2005 Joseph accepted a position with Compass group as an Executive Chef at one of The Delaware Valley Regions CFE’s , Wyeth Pharmaceuticals later Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Trying to stay closer to home, in 2010 Joseph accepted a position within Compass as a Chef Manager at Quest Diagnostics in Collegeville, Pa. In 2012 Joseph Accepted the position as District Executive Chef at GMAC in the Delaware Valley Region.
In 2013 Joseph decided that he wanted to try and make a difference, so he started a career in Senior Living. Joseph has worked for Freedom Village @ Brandywine Brookdale Senior Living Community In West Brandywine Pa as the Executive Chef and 5 years Later left to become the Director of Food and Nutrition at Normandy Farms Estates in Blue Bell Pa.
Joseph still resides in Collegeville, Pa where he and his wife, Alicia, are raising their three children Anna, Joey and Vincent ages 21, 19 and 18. On Joseph’s off time, he enjoys watching New York Giants Football camping, fishing, range shooting and spending quality time with his family.
